
Also known as Oregon White oak it is native from southwestern British Columbia down through southern California. The predominate white oak specie through the coastal mountainous regions of western North America. A beautiful white oak specie that typically grows 60' tall or more, with rich foliage that casts a moderately light shade. Attractive and interesting ofetn mushroom shaped form, they can also grow in dense stands of tall upright trees. They produce an excellent sweet large acorn that is favored by many forms of wildlife and is also an excellent human food. Long lived trees have great hard wood that is great for growing mushrooms such as Shitake on, firewood and milling for flooring and other uses. Slow growing and very drought tolerant.
