Beautiful large maple native to the west coast from Alaska to Southern California has the biggest leaves of any maple specie. Very ornamental with its red new shoots, deep summer shade, and bright yellow fall color.. Also makes excellent lumber for wood working projects and is an important nectar plant for bees in the spring with its showy long bloom clusters. Has been used to make maple syrup too.
