Rau Ram, also known as Vietnamese Cilantro or Laska Leaf in Thailand is a tender perennial herb that tastes a lot like the cilantro. Tolerant of hot weather it is frost sensitive and can be grown in a pot and brought indoors for winter harvests in northern climates. Very easy to grow and a great way to have the flavor of cilantro in your kitchen year round. A member of the knotweed family it has ornamental red and green leaves. Grows about a foot tall and is great chopped finely and added to spring rolls, Asian style soups, stews, chicken dishes, salads , Cambodian spring rolls, potato salads etc.Hardy zones 9-11.
