With it's deep roots and nitrogen fixing qualities as a leguminous plant Crown vetch is widely used for erosion control and soil improvement. Also grown as a forage plant for ruminant livestock such as sheep, goats and cows, but is toxic to horses, pigs and humans. Has pretty purple flowers and lush growth that chokes out weeds. Generally low growing it can reach a couple feet high in some situations.
