Ralls Janet Apple Scionwood
This antique apple variety was discovered by Caleb Ralls on his farm in Amherst Co Virginia around 1800, and was later grown by Thomas Jefferson at Monticello. It has been used extensively in breeding new varieties. Fine grained flesh is crisp and juicy. Medium large fruit has yellow-green skin with dark red striping over top. Ripens in October and is an excellent keeper.
